Genie, who we had met a day prior to this event, saw Brandon Cruz and I jamming at Little Italy’s farmers market in down town San Diego. She came up to us and asked if we would be interested in playing for a memorial the very next day. We said sure!
The very next day, we drove out to Del Mar Powerhouse Community Center which is located right on the beach. It was an amazing day! Come to find out, Gregory who had recently passed, was from Hawaii and his family and friends were all there to celebrate his brilliant life. He left a legacy of pure Aloha which started from his family and onwards to their friends. Liza , the coordinator and family friend, did an amazing job of taking care of the celebration and directing the swim out into the ocean to bless this wonderful braddah who has moved on to Heaven. Thank you for having us and trusting us to share our music with you all.
